Dance is a universal language that transcends words.

In class and rehearsal, dancers learn to communicate and connect with others through movement. Collaboration and teamwork are essential components of dance, fostering trust and camaraderie among participants. As dancers engage in partner work and group choreography, they develop social skills and interpersonal confidence.

The ability to connect with others on a non-verbal level enhances their overall communication skills and enriches their relationships both in and outside of the studio.

LPD is all about building connections. Here are the ways that we foster community.

  • We create a welcoming environment

  • We encourage communication- by creating opportunities for dancers to share their thoughts and experiences

  • We celebrate progress and achievements

  • LPD promotes collaboration

  • LPD has studio rituals and traditions- our Annual Food Drive, Miss Regina’s Hot Chocolate Cafe, Mini Nutcracker Performance, Show Run Saturdays, and 80s staging day, among others

  • We encourage supportive behaviour

  • We create opportunities for leadership

  • We integrate multigenerational dances into our recital

  • Our staff and senior students lead by example, demonstrating kindness, respect, and inclusivity
