About Lynn Panting

Lynn Panting is dance educator, artist, and choreographer with over two decades of teaching experience. Before opening Lynn Panting Dance, she taught for Blackmore Dance, Vibe Studio of Dance, and served as the lead dance instructor, Director of Dance and Director of Arts at MAX Arts Athletics Wellness.

Recognized for her contributions to arts education, Lynn was shortlisted for ArtsNL's Arts Educator of the Year in 2023 and 2013. Her passion for bringing dance to the community has taken her across the province, leading outreach programs through ArtsNL's Art Smarts program and DanceNL.

As a professional artist, Lynn has choreographed and directed innovative dance theatre and film projects that emphasize creativity, collaboration, and storytelling. She is deeply committed to fostering self-confidence and artistic growth through movement, both in her students and her own practice.

Lynn holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Humanities focusing on performance, dance, and the body from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. She has also completed specialized training to support youth, including programming through the Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador and The Body Project Canada. In 2020, she furthered her commitment to well-being by completing the Psychological First Aid - Caring for Others course through the Canadian Red Cross.

Lynn is incredibly proud of the diverse paths her students have taken. While some have pursued careers in dance and the performing arts, others have become teachers, lawyers, occupational therapists, musicians, copywriters, chefs, architects, visual artists, archaeologists, parents, fashion designers, scientists, wellness practitioners, and more. Each one of them carries the lessons of creativity, confidence, and community they cultivated in her classes, and Lynn is honored to have been part of their journey.
