Our approach is rooted in community building and storytelling through dance. We recognize that every dancer learns differently, and we use a variety of teaching methods to bring out the best in each student. Our classes emphasize creativity, musicality, and self-expression, supported by strong foundations in body alignment and kinetic awareness.
We take an educated, inclusive approach to traditional dance techniques and are committed to making dance accessible and welcoming for all.
Wee Dance (ages 3-5)
Our Wee Dance classes are specially designed for preschool-aged children (ages 3–5) and offer a joyful introduction to the world of dance. Using a creative, play-based approach, these classes focus on basic dance technique, gross motor skills, classroom etiquette, and imaginative movement.
We aim to spark creativity and nurture self-expression through music, storytelling, and movement. Our lively and experienced instructors bring an early childhood focus to every aspect of class, creating a safe and encouraging environment for your little one’s first dance experience.
Wee Dance classes run from September to June and culminate in a delightful year-end recital.

Styles of Dance
Wee Dance (ages 3-5)
Our Wee Dance classes are for preschool-age children age 3-5. These classes use a creative approach to share the joy of dance with your little ones. The curriculum emphasizes classroom etiquette, gross motor skills, basic dance technique, and creative movement! We aim to develop children's creativity and bring out their self-expression through music and movement.
5-7 Ballet & Tap Combo Class (kindergarten, grade 1, grade 2)
This 45-minute class contains ballet, tap and creative movement. It is a bridge between Wee Dance and our regular, genre-specific, classes. Students will gain an introduction to traditional ballet technique and vocabulary. Tap will combine the study of rhythm, precision and fluidity of movement. Creative movement will include simple isolations, turns, jumps and leaps.
Ballet (ages 7+)
The syllabus is based on a progression of exercises preparing the body and mind for technique that develops good placement, proper coordination, strength, grace, and musicality.
Pointe and Pre-pointe (ages 10+)
Pointe work is an aspect of classical ballet technique where a dancer supports their full body weight on fully extended feet in pointe shoes. In order to do pointe work dancers must demonstrate excellent ballet technique, strength, discipline, maturity, and a knowledge of one’s body. In a recreational dance school setting pointe work should be challenge, but it should not be painful.
Some students take to pointe work with ease, other struggle. Some do not have the natural facility, foot structure, and/ or ankle strength to “go on pointe” safely. Therefore pointe shoes are recommended on a case by case basis.
Ballet Tech (ages 10+)
Ballet Tech dives into the intricacies of ballet technique, proper placement, and alignment.
Jazz (ages 7+)
If you love popular and classic music, stylized and energetic movement, then jazz dance is for you. All styles of classical, ethnic, and contemporary jazz music are used to express the variety of jazz dance styles enjoyed by both dancers and audiences today. Jazz is a technical class that develops skill, performance and musicality.
Latin Jazz (ages 10+)
Latin Jazz dance combines movements and rhythms of merengue, salsa, mambo, lambada or samba with traditional jazz dance technique.
Tap (ages 7+)
Tap dance is a musical art form and a fun-filled way to develop rhythm, coordination and balance. From the classic style of Broadway to contemporary rhythms, tap is a challenge, a workout, and even more fun.
Modern (ages 10+)
Modern dance is a highly expressive style of dance that challenges the structured dance technique of classical ballet. Its focus is expression, rather than following a rigid set of postures or technical positions that ballet dancers are trained in. Modern dance movements are considered freeform and fluid, and are often inspired by other dance styles—like African dance, ballet, and folk dance. Though modern dance technique is considered more relaxed and natural than ballet, it can require considerable core work and strength.
Musical Theatre (ages 10+)
This class is a great place to learn, grow, and develop self-confidence in musical theatre skills. Singing, dancing, acting are the cornerstones of all great musical productions. This class will expand upon skills in every area with a focus on theatrical dancing.
Body Conditioning (ages 10+)
Body conditioning exercises target your whole body, using different muscles to strengthen and stabilize the body. They may combine several types of exercise, such as flexibility, strength, and resistance training.
